Product Philosophy
Inspired by the expressive brushwork of the Song Dynasty painting Water and the traditional ocean-wave-and-cliff motif, this piece channels the Eastern philosophy of boundless acceptance and quiet self-sufficiency. It weaves a refined, understated aesthetic into everyday tea ware, allowing traditional beauty to enter contemporary tea culture in a relaxed and modern way.
Design Introduction
Following the classic Chinese gaiwan form, the body is crafted from raw zisha (purple clay) ore and coated overall in a custom dark pearl glaze, kiln-fired at 1280°C. The glaze surface is matte and refined, with a subtle, warm pearlescent quality. The decorative motif is drawn from the gentle, flowing lines of expressive ink-wash waves, hand-painted in pure silver powder. The silver tracery creates a soft, layered interplay of light and shadow against the deep black glaze — stripping away the heaviness of traditional ornamentation to leave lines that are fluid and unrestrained, in harmony with the minimalist aesthetic of the contemporary tea table.
